About
A living map of
collective awareness.
LOKA was born from a simple yet powerful realisation: our ability to solve problems — and to truly enjoy the world — depends on how deeply we're aware of it.
Motivation
Why LOKA exists
Conceived by employees of Find Automation and Socratus Foundation, LOKA was envisioned as a bridge between people and place — between what is and what could be. It emerged from a shared understanding of how much of the world around us remains unseen, unacknowledged, or misunderstood.
In a hyperlocal world, every story, every crack in the system, every moment of beauty or breakdown contributes to a living, breathing map of collective awareness.
LOKA invites you to contribute to that map. Through geo-tagging, user-generated annotations, and layers of local insight, LOKA empowers people to:
- Discover the richness of their surroundings
- Surface both the problems and the poetry of everyday life
- Take the first step — from knowing to doing
At its heart, LOKA is not just a platform — it's a movement. A call to slow down, to look closer, to share what you see, and to see what others have shared.
Because awareness isn't passive — it's the first step toward change.
Values
Openness & Public Good
LOKA has been developed with the intention of being a public good — a shared platform that supports local knowledge and community awareness.
The data contributed by users on LOKA — whether tags, notes, or observations — remains theirs. We respect user ownership and believe that people should have control over what they contribute.
Any revenue generated by LOKA will be used to improve the platform or support projects with a social or public interest focus. We aim to build LOKA in a way that is transparent, responsible, and aligned with the interests of its users.
